Penang Trip 5

Next day morning, we took our breakfast at one of the old street. I didn't manage to take picture of it cause it started to rain.
This bowl of loh mee only cost me RM3.50. It contain chicken feet and pork meat. *surp* What a nice breakfast in a cold morning.

My friend actually took a day off just to prepare himself to be a tour guide for the day. So upon our request, he took us to Penang's Butterfly Farm

Admission fee: RM18.00 for Malaysian

I've been here when I was like 10 with my family. It doesn't seem fun back then. Maybe as time passes, they have improve a lot. Now they have tour guide that explain to you how they breed the butterfly.

That is our tour guide. He is a friendly guy and uses his ipad to show us all sorts of butterfly so that we can understand better when explaining. As we walk along the butterfly farm, we saw a lot of bugs, insect, even fishes. We're even lucky enough to saw a Caterpillar trying to turn into a pupa and a pair of butterfly mating.

By the end of the tour, he let us have a chance to release the newly born butterfly (pupa to butterfly). It was fun.

After adventure at the outdoor, there are bugs and snake and bugs.......and few little creepy things to see indoor.
It's not bad to visit butterfly farm. But make sure you ask for the tour guide so you won't be bored by just looking at butterfly not knowing anything.

By evening, it's time to go back to our hotel and dress up.

Just showing off some pictures at the night of the wedding.

While waiting for the ceremony to start, we got extra time to camwhore. This beautiful lady getting married too....but this time, I won't be able to attend her wedding. sad~~~

Penang just like KL. Dinner only start at 8pm

Here's another hotel next to where we stayed.

Penang Trip 3

After our lunch, we took out our map and start to search for the nearest tourist attraction that can be reach by foot. We saw a lot of temple along the way and found our way to this small museum along Jalan Farquhar.

Admission Fee: RM1 for adult.

"Divided into galleries dedicated to Penang's historical communities, as well as particular historical events that took place in Penang, the museum houses a fine collection of old photographs, maps, historical documents, Chinese furniture, embroidery, costumes and other historical relics."

One thing that impress me in the gallery art is painting done by Captain Robert Smith. It look so real....i don't mean it in 3D but it felt like the painting is moving. I didn't took any picture of it cause it won't look as good as the real painting itself.

Francis Light sound familiar to you? Study back your history

Another historical visitor attraction. You need to pay to go in...AND...you can't just go in by yourself. It had 3 separate session where you will be guided by the person in-charge to go into the house. You can't wander around all by yourself.

**Daily guided heritage tours of the house ( in English ) : 11am / 1.30pm / 3pm
Admission fee RM 12.00 per person

Both of us not really into architecture and history of a dead guy who build his house for his wifes and sons. So we went on to search for more tourist attraction.

We walk, we ask around, we use GPS, we see map......and..........finally

We reach Lebuh Armenian. It's not easy to find if you are not familiar with Georgetown area.

I have to queue up just to take picture with them.

Here's another wall painting. It's not the same street with the bicycle kids. But it's not far. There are few more painting like this which advice to use transport to go there instead of walking.

What?~~~~ I~~ like to peek what the boy is trying to snatch.

More and more walking around Georgetown area. Many hidden clan's temple.

Penang Trip 2

It's took approximately 30-40 minutes to reach Penang from KL using flight. Almost like flying from Miri to KK. I know I look pissed in the picture. That was taken AFTER we adventure around Georgetown (Hours of walking under the hot sun). Just showing you the place I stayed even the bf is impressed.
We reach the hotel around 12pm and lucky to find that they have room for us to check in right away. Normal check in hours is at 2pm. The reception is so friendly to upgrade our room from standard to deluxe with no extra charges.

It's 12++ noon now and we are very very hungry. Actually we have done some research before going to Penang few weeks ago on where to look for food. To our surprise, one of the famous char siew ah pek is at the same block with Chulia Heritage Hotel.

This is what we ordered and believe me....you wont regret for coming here. All this only cost us about RM16 if not mistaken.

And the soup ain't just any soup kosong. It filled with tender pork and some vege too.

A close up of the last char siew before I put it into my mouth.

If you don't look carefully, you might miss it. But then again, you wont miss it during peak hours. Many people queue up just to eat the ah pek char siew.

Penang Trip 1

In October 2011, my old friend back in Uni time finally tying the knot and invited me to their wedding a year later. Which is on 14th October 2012. Many of you might say "wah, you're such a wonderful friend to fly all the way to Penang"
Well, it's a year in advance and I wanted a holiday gate away excuses. Since my bf also agree to go with me. So why not?

The route I choose to reach Penang is flying through KL. I was planing to connect the flight directly from Miri - KL - Penang but the time just wont match. So i end up staying at my sis's place for a night.

By the time I reach KL, it's already 6pm and by the time we reach The Curve/ Ikea it's already 9pm.
We quickly had our dinner at 龙的传人

After our dinner, we quickly went for a walk in Ikea. It's big....and have all these show rooms for little house owner to make reference with. Compact yet space saving. I love it. How I wish I had one in future.
That's the end of my short stay in KL.

The next day, we catch our flight to Penang. What a purple day for me.

Polo luggage

To travel, you need a bag. A feather light cabin luggage. Where you don't need to spend a cent to purchase from AA. But make sure you're not over 7kg.

Last last week, I went to hunt for a 20" cabin luggage. My old one has been damage due to the brutal treatment from the airport crew.

Parkson was having a 50% sells but the price ain't as cheap as you think. But by the end of the day, I fall in love with the one I've lay my eyes on. It can now be zip open and space saving. So you don't have to find a spot justttttttttt to keep your luggage.
